Great Solution
This item provides the alignment of the cleaning rod/jag without having to disassemble the rifle. It is a great and easy solution when wanting to punch the barrel after a long day, or during the day at the range. I highly recommend it.

J Dewy Muzzle Guide
Nice, quality construction. Just what I needed to protect my M1A muzzle/crown.

also fits my revolver
I bought this because the usual conical muzzle guards are too large to be of much use cleaning a .22 revolver from the muzzle. This isn't a perfect fit on my S&W model 17, but it's close enough.

Muzzle Protector for the M1 Garand
I purchased a totally rebuilt M1 Garand from the CMP. The barrel is excellent, with a nice crown at the muzzle. As you know, you can't use a cleaning rod from the breach, and sometimes a Bore Snake doesn't always clean the bore. So to use a cleaning rod, the jag and patch have to be inserted from the muzzle. Although I use a carbon fiber cleaning rod, I want to preserve that nice crown, and this device helps protect the crown while scrubbing the bore. A great idea and device.

Exactly what was needed
Product will be used on M1 Garand recently purchased. It is exactly what I needed. Brownell's online selection, customer service and delivery was another excellent experience. Thank you for being such a quality business. Special thanks for excellent How To Videos.

An inexpensive insurance policy
As M1s get harder to find and parts become a lot more expensive, little things become important. This muzzle guide will extend the life of the crown and maintain accuracy of is now a 75 y/o rifle. Many (most) GIs that carried rifles picked up lots of bad habits when it came to maintaining our weapons during peacetime and have brought those habits to civilian life. In uniform we only cared that the bore was shiny, and if the rifle was rendered unserviceable making it shiny - they always gave us another one. Tools like this muzzle guide will help maintaining the value and accuracy of our treasured rifles.

Well worth it
Well worth it if you put the cleaning rod down the muzzle before attaching brush or patch to rod. In the Army we never worried of crown or bore damage, but if you have to pay for repairs/replacements this is inexpensive insurance to maintain accuracy and barrel life.

Very helpful item
Great for cleaning from the muzzle end when a coated rod isn't available. Especially nice for protecting that original barrel crown as on the M1 Garand.

A must have for the M-1A
A must have to reduce muzzle wear from cleaning without it
