gun mat
perfect size. love the partitions idea. and the fact that it lays flat. I've had others that when you roll up they are hard to de-curl. This one does not.

I have not been able to use it yet. Appears to be well made. I like the product enough that I tried to order the larger version from you, however you do not offer that item. Went ahead and purchased the larger version from the manufacture. Over the last several years I have purchased a few items from you and all have been good and fairly priced. Delivery has been good, least acceptable delivery service has been with UPS. Not your issue. Will continue to buy from you, as needed.
Works Pretty Good
Over the years I keep acquiring more and more of these mats which are super helpful when you're working on projects the little trays that are built in help the small parts from rolling off your workbench, so in a nutshell they're very helpful and I would recommend them.
Master Mat is the BEST!
This is the BEST gun mat, no questions. I own 5 of these mats that I purchased from Brownells 25+ years ago and they are still on my benches being used every day. I have spilled and cleaned them with Brakleen, alcohol, bore solvents, and oils of all kinds. They still lay flat and have not curled up. They look well used but are still pliable and usable. I expect they will last a lot longer as well. Worth every penny I paid for them and they are a tribute to the quality products that Brownells sells. Rick
Are we talking about the same product?
I just went into the shop to check to see if I indeed had the same mat and I did. I've had this mat for about 7 years and it's still good to go. I regularly clean it w/ MEK (super solvent), acetone, spilled gun oil, etc. and it is still quite pliable and flexible. However, I have never rolled it up; I have an old fabric one that I use outside the shop. In my experience, this mat is by far the best. It has saved many hours by catching small parts with the little dividers it has before the parts hit the floor and disappear into another dimension. I also like the individual compartments as they help keep like parts together. Unlike the cloth/fabric type mats, I can clean this one up quite nicely whereas with the others I just have to toss them as I'm certainly not going to put them in the washing machine. Also, after just a few months of use, they were too grungy for me and had to order yet another. I wonder if these pads are being made by different subcontractors as they are getting only 5 stars or 1? That's a very unusual spread - there's almost always some reviews in the middle. I'm sorry the mats didn't work out for some of the other folks, but for me, it is far and away the best mat I've ever used.
Excellent Shop Mat
I've had this mat for nearly twenty years. I've used it primarily for working on and cleaning handguns, but it has proven quite versatile for other uses requiring a firm, non-slip surface. I've slopped all manner of solvents and cleaning agents on it, and none have done it any damage. I've always stored it flat, and have had no problems whatever with it cracking. It never occurred to me to transport it rolled up, largely because it would be quite bulky and heavy as such, and also because I never thought it was intended for that sort of use. There are much better mats for that purpose, a couple of which are sold by Brownell's. But for use in the shop or home, this mat is about as good as it gets.
Does what it's supposed to.
I agree with the 1 commenter. It did crack after I rolled it up and left it that way for about a year during a move to a new house. Probably common sense to not roll up something so thick and heavy. It has, however been on the bench most of the time for "35 years" and except for a few discolored rings from leaving bottles of Hoppes sitting, there is no other damage. I've cleaned a bunch of guns on that thing and except for the little 2 inch split, there's no difference from it's new condition. I'm gonna have to break down and buy the Mega Mat when this gives up, but don't figure it's gonna be any time soon.
Tried others, like this one best
I have had this for over a year and it is used heavily. I don't roll it up, so perhaps that is why it is has given me good life compared to the other 1 star reviews. I have used Mpro7, hoppes 9, weapons shield, Brian Enos Slide glide, brownells Do drill - you name it, it has probably come in contact with this pad. The do Drill stained it, but other than that it has worked like a charm. I use the parts trap at the top of the mat way more than I thought I would. This mat gets used at least twice a week. I even used a small vice on top of it for a cylinder reaming job to give better traction. If and when I wear this one out I will get another one.
Great mat
This a great mat just wish they made one bigger say 28"x19".
You will want more than one
Great product! I ordered a second one because I liked the first one so well. Keeps parts from rolling around or being misplaced. Wipes clean.
