308 Win StarLine = Great Brass !
My batch came clean and ready to go with Large Primer Pockets Cases came trimmed at 2.005" No dents and 3 extra pieces enclosed :) Great price / product
Great Brass As Always
Great brass, well made. Reasonable price. Uniform sizing.
Good brass
Good quality brass. Consistent in all the important ways. The only downside is the incredibly show shipping process by Brownell's.
Only brass to use
Been reloading for 40 years, Starline brass is the only brass I use unless the brass is from factory ammo. Always to correct dimensions and always an extra 2 pieces.
Starline brass for 308 Win
Starline brass is about all I use in handguns. It never disappoints. It has served me very well in numerous rifles as well. In 308 it's case capacity is much closer to Lapua than WW. It can be reloaded almost as much as Lapua at half the price. Lapua is still the best of the best but Starline is a close second. I am not a target shooter so most of my opinions are for durability and reloading.
Regrets
Didn't expect to write a review like this for Starline. First, they must change their packaging. Brass came in a zip bag. It had considerable neck and case mouth damage. I had to toss 3 pieces because the neck would not repair in the sizing die. Next, the brass was short. Several pieces were below the "trim to length" and all needed trimming due to case mouth condition so everything is now .003 short. Neck thickness is also a problem with a variance of .004 from side to side. It needs neck turning. Primer pockets were very deep. My Sinclair tool wouldn't touch bottom on several pieces. Overall unit weight has a spread of 8 grains, about 5%. Average at best in my experience. Overall, I wish I had returned it after seeing the initial condition but the other issues were not immediately apparent.
