GEISSELE AUTOMATICS LLC MK16 URG-I COMPLETE UPPER RECEIVERS 5.56MM

For more than 50 years the famed silhouette of the M16/M4 has only had one major and several minor changes. Barrel lengths and buttstocks have changed, but more or less the evolution of America’s right arm has proceeded apace with each generation of warrior making her their own. In that time, the sight of the M16/M4 in the competent grasp of young Americans has meant hope to countless millions of people around the globe.

With the advent of the USASOC URGI, that quintessentially American silhouette has changed forever. The Geissele Super Modular Rail MK16 handguard, hammer forged barrel, and mid-length gas system work in concert for a package that delivers measurable increases in hit probability. Designed to take the full rigors of the new M855A1 (AB57) ammunition, the USASOC URGI also takes full advantage of its capabilities. Once the USASOC URGI is installed on an existing system, it essentially makes for a brand new weapon. The USASOC URGI is a near-clone of the upper receiver group currently in service with USASOC.

Great quality
I bought this because I have been looking for some time to get a quality rifle and this struck me as a good price. The purchase got me interested in completing a new build rather than simply swapping out the upper on my current budget rifle. I love the DDC color and wish the upper receiver was the same color, but it is black anodized. Handguard is very light but also seems sturdy and durable. Geissele is known for this. If I had to do over I would probably have chosen to buy a complete Super Duty rifle, but they can be hard to find in 14.5" DDC. This way I can use a B5 stock and BCM grip. It's not really Brownell's fault, but I wish they would use a courier other than USPS. My package got stuck in a loop between Bedford Park, IL and Chicago and back again, which is a common problem for deliveries in my area. I had to submit a lost mail request to get it un-stuck in Bedford Park distribution center. They are currently losing another of my Brownell's deliveries which got sent to Alaska en route from Iowa to Indiana!

Far more accurate than the typical duty rifle.
I bought the 11.5 and already own the 14.5. I've been very impressed with both. Very solid build quality which is what I would expect from geissele, but what I wasn't expecting was how accurate it is. For a duty rifle, far better than the A4 I was issued which was 3 to 4 moa. This one was just over 1 moa with green tip and slightly better with 77gr, which prob has more to do with me. I wish we had these back in 2004. I don't need it but I might get the 10.3 at some point to add to the mk18 as his better looking step brother. You won't regret any of them. Also I shoot unsuppressed but not for long. Comes with a Geissele h3 buffer and super 42. Cherry on top.
