Product Spotlight: Spiritus Systems Mk IV vs Mk V Chest Rig
Caleb is once again joined by Adam from Spiritus Systems, who compares and contrasts for us the Spiritus Micro Fight Mk IV and Mk V chest rigs. The "mark" number indicates the generation of the product, so Spiritus has developed five iterations of the Micro Fight. The Mk V has MOLLE slots on the front, laser-cut holes for magazine retention bungees (if you use 'em), and a single compartment inside. This keeps the Mk V's profile as low as possible, so when you attach MOLLE gear to the front of it, overall bulk is kept to a minimum.
But wait, the Micro Fight Mk IV's double pocket makes it preferable in certain situations. Many Spiritus customers still like it, so it is also still in production. The Mk IV's pockets enable you to carry can carry TWO magazine inserts in it. Law enforcement folks also like the extra pocket on the Mk IV to carry handcuffs, a taser, and other LE-specific items.
You can attach a large pouch to the front of the Micro Fight Mk V for additional storage. And unlike the Mk IV, you can attach additional pouches or mag carriers to the SIDES of the Mk V. The Mk IV gives you more storage out of the gate, but the Mk V is the way to go when you need a minimalist setup. If you need more storage down the line, you can easily add onto the Mk V. Which Micro Fight chest rig is better? The one that serves YOUR needs the best!
