I gave it one "CON" as it does require the special pin to hold it together. With the price point being where it is, Brownells could easily add $5.00 to the overall price and include that dang pin. The pin and charging handle are the two pieces that are not mil-spec, so thats good. Brownells does include the "charging handle"; so why didn't they include the pin? An easy fix to make this receiver set "perfect". Ya' listening Brownells?? Now for the good things about it. The color is so good even my local 'gun shop' owner made a comment about how good it looks and color matching, when I picked it up from the shop. He's a bit of a "grouchy old man" so his comment spoke volumes for him to say how good it looked & how well it matched. If you want something that closely matches the 1959 prototype weapon this is the way to go. Paul Levy is the driving force behind Brownells Retro Line of firearms and I believe he has hit a few "home runs" with them. The thing is if you want to go this route on your next build then get after it before the needed parts a "Out of Stock"

Very good workmanship. Pleased with receivers overall. As others, irritated about proper receiver pin not included. It's a $22+ separate order. At least put it in the box with the receivers vs $7 additional shipping.

Fantastic finish, a somewhat grey that the product photographs do not capture. The charging handle placement really is what got me here. The only negative is that it does not come with the specialty front pivot pin made for the 601/Proto Lowers. At the time of this writing, there are none in stock, and at the price-point of this receiver set, I would have paid a few extra dollars for it to be included in with the set simply to guarantee that I would have one, as otherwise it is compatible with all modern lower and upper parts. If you are buying this set, you MUST have the 601 pivot pin, no other AR pivot pint will fit.
