Completes my BRN180 Upper
This is a high-quality lower receiver meant to compliment the BRN180 upper. The fit and finish are excellent. Assembly was easy and quick. I am very happy with this receiver and I like the ambidextrous controls.
Awesome match for the Gen3 upper!
Other than not having the ability to lock the bolt back from the right side, I can't fine anything I don't live about this receiver. I didn't think ambi lowers were really necessary being a right handed shooter but I love the natural, intuitive position of the left-side mag release. All the holes are tight, which is good, and the stainless detent screws will be fine with a bit of added loctite.

It's Not Really Ambi
Seems like good quality. My biggest complaint is that Brownell's went to all the trouble of designing an 'ambi' lower and then failed to make it with a right side bolt catch/lock!?! I prefer the design of your trigger guard to the ADM but bought theirs as well to get a truly ambi lower. I also bought a Redi-Mag Redi-Catch to use with the BRN-180M lower, so at least in the event of a double feed, it will be easier to manage. All that said, I'm still waiting on some LPK parts and waiting on Brownell's to sell a .223 Wylde 10.5-12.5" upper (and a 13.9" with non P&W bbl to go with the ADM lower) before I assemble this lower. The left side mag release seems like it should work well, but obviously, I can't say until I actually put it all together.

Paired with Gen2 BRN-180 Upper
For the most part I’m very happy with this lower. My only disappointment is with the right side bolt release and interference from Gen2 BRN-180 Upper Dust Cover/Ejection Port Cover (won’t be a problem with the Gen3 upper). Also I think the right hand bolt release would function easier if the supplied pin was .050” or so longer, especially with a Gen2 Upper.

Disappointing thus far
Looked good and sounded good. Came with about 7 or 8, admittedly very minor, but none the less nicks on top of the inside of the receiver. In no way should this effect functionality but is dissapointing when buying a brand new product at the higher end of the price scale! As to functionality - WOULDN'T KNOW - because the lower uses a screw style pin vs. a reg roll pin for the Bolt Catch/Release which, as per product description should be included/installed on the lower, and IT WASN'T! To make matters worse Brownells doesn't have the screw pin in stock and back order might be filled at the end of Jan, which is about 6 weeks away. Will be hunting screw pin now. Further, the Bolt Catch function is not trully Ambi. You cannot catch the bolt from the right side - only release it. Which wouldn't be much of an issue really except that on the Gen 3 Upper the charging handle is on the left now! Defeats the whole darn purpose of an Ambi lower and moving charging handle to the left because there is no way to efficiently lock the bolt back. Makes the set up real combat ineffective because you have to do an AK reach around and in essence let go of the rifle to lock back the bolt and take rifle out of ready position. Not the end of the world but is goofy and awkward considering the entire design. Have to look for a real ambi solution for the Bolt Catch/Release now!
Missing critical part
The receiver is beautiful. Unfortunately the bolt catch takes a screw rather than a roll pin, and it was not in the box! Makes the receiver unusable until I can get one. How long will that take?
