Magazine release
Very simple installation. Provides a simple ergonomic positioning of the magazine release for reloading or clearing your weapon, compared to the Ruger 10/22 factory flush mounted release.

Makes for a more comfortable 10/22
When I first got my 10/22 I started getting pains in my wrists from fumbling with the mechanisms to release the magazine and the bolt. I put in the Volquartsen extended magazine release and the Volquartsen auto bolt release and the results are amazing. No more pains. I really enjoy shooting the 10/22 now with these upgrades. No more pain.
A must have for the 10-22
Love this. Assists with the mag removal, but is still fairly low-profile so it doesn't look like an obnoxious "Tactical Tommy" addition like some other extended mag releases for the 10-22. Will order another in a heartbeat for any new 10-22 I buy.
Every 1022 needs one.
Have installed 3 of these on different guns. You wont regret it.
everybody needs one
a must have, everybody needs one
Not a drop-in part in my 10/22
When I first installed it, the magazine latch button that engages the magazine didn't protrude fully into the magazine well. This let the magazine loosely rattle, as it was not firmly held in the well. I had to remove material off the backside of the new release to allow the magazine latch button to fully protrude into the well and engage the magazine firmly. This cured the looseness and rattling. I recommend this part only for people who have some mechanical skill and the tools to make minor mods to aluminum pieces. I am an amateur gunsmith and have some experience with this. My 10/22 is a 30 year old model.
Bad fit in new 10/22 trigger housing
Ruger has changed the trigger housing to some form of plastic, and this part is a very tight fit in that housing. Took filing away one side to get clearance and then re-bluing. Next time I'll choose a different one.
