LEUPOLD - Rifleman Detachable High Rings Matte

I bought the wrong size (lowest) on my first order. As another commenter stated, you can’t just put these back in the packaging. They seal these in theft proof packaging that’s really unpleasant to open. Regardless, I combined the Medium Rings with an EGW rail, and a Leupold 2-7 Rimfire Scope, all on top of a Ruger 10/22. It’s a nice combination. I have the same rings in a stainless/silver finish paired with a Weaver 2.5-7 Rimfire. The rings seem to be a good “value” product that’s ideal for a .22 Rimfire.

These are excellent rings for rimfire or "modern sporting rifle" applications. These work great on 5.56 and 300 BLK. They are light weight and well made. With Leupold you never have to worry about being out of round, misaligned or poorly lapped. I didn't, and wouldn't recommend them on 300 Win Mag or other heavier recoil applications. I purchased a pair of the Leupold "Rifleman" (matte black - High) scope rings for my Ruger Precision Rimfire rifle. I matched them with a Nikon 3 x 9 "EFR" scope I previously had on a Ruger 10/22 that I traded. The Leupold rings worked perfectly. They look good, installed easily and have enough height to allow for the bolt throw and proper eye relief. I have scope rings from "Burris" and "Vortex" for my centerfire rifles that cost 3 or 4 times the price of these rings. What you get with these Leupold rings are a solid mounting ring set that works and looks great once installed. Very pleased and would recommend them to anyone.

I am a professional gunsmith. I use a number of different scope rings, sometimes determined by what is available and not necessarily what I like best. These "Rifleman" rings are made well enough, and they have a good finish. Leupold has them made in Singapore rather than the USA. The price reflects that, so no argument there. My biggest gripe is with the packaging. The rings come in a bubble pack that is almost impossible for me to open without cutting myself! It would probably be good to use tin snips on the packages, but I have made out with shears and occasionally with a sharp pocketknife against a sacrificial board. Putting the rings back in the packaging if I try them and then need another height, etc., is virtually impossible. If I do succeed in getting them back into the bubble, I have to tape all over it, which ruins it for display.
