SONS OF LIBERTY GUN WORKS - COMBAT GRADE 5.56X45MM NATO RIFLE BARRELS FOR AR-15

The Barrel Nut supplied by Sons of Liberty Gun Works was torqued to 35 lbs, NOT 45 lbs~!!!! It's an aluminum nut and SOLGW recommends at least 30 lbs, but since there are NO holes to line up like the Delta Ring Assembly has, there is no reason to even go past 35 lbs, and besides, once torqued, and the hand guard is installed, the nut can't come loose anyway by Design, which is a BIG Plus~!!!

Out of the package, this was a Super nice looking barrel, Combat weight (meaning it is a "light" barrel) and the SOLGW 10.5" inch hand guard fits and looks great on this~!! The barrel nut was torqued on at 45 ft pounds, with a low profile steel gas block, a normal NATO flash hider/muzzle break with a crush washer, and adjusted slightly to the right since the shooter, my grandson, is right handed. I might also mention this barrel is a MID-LENGTH, meaning if you are so inclined, you can use a "front sight/gas block" that has a bayonet lug and any M7 bayonet will fit this barrel combination to a "T", and at a length that matches the Military M4. The upper and lower receiver, also available from Brownells were used for our build, from Anderson Mfg. Everything went smoothly while I explained the HOW's and WHY's of putting an AR together to my grandson. I'd definitely recommend this barrel for any further builds that anyone would ask me about, and though I'm an AK enthusiast, I have three AR's in the safe, along with 3 other different calibers I can change to if needed for different scenarios, and love to shoot both of these rifles. Got this barrel from brownells and pinned and welded the solgw nox to it which puts it at 16 inches. I've put about 700 rounds through it and haven't had any problems at all. The barrel is dimpled so lining up the gas block is easy.

I gave this barrel 2 stars because i had terrible accuracy. 5-6” groups at 100 yards with most ammo. Handloads tightened the group up. It functioned fine but i swapped this with a better brand and was 3x more accurate even with cheap ammo. Company wanted me to send in the whole rifle to warranty it. Would not recommend.
