What is the SUREFIRE - 6.8mm Bore Alignment Rod?

Surefire Bore Rods are intended to check concentricity prior to firing suppressed on a new platform. The rod most closely represents the bullet flight path and will show any issue of alignment, if present. Recommended to verify barrel to adapter to suppressor alignment, for any new build or any previously un-shot setup. Choose the corresponding rod for your caliber rifle or carbine.

  • For validation of set-up prior to first round fired
  • Specific caliber rods for the most popular options on the market today

Simply insert the Surefire Bore Rod through the mounted suppressor of an unloaded weapon. Equal space should be seen between bore of suppressor and centered rod.

.556 Bore Alignment Rod by SUREFIRE
This is basically a 12" Stainless Steel 22 cal. bore rod with SureFire stamped along the side of the rod. I was expecting shipment of the product from Brownell's in a protective box to protect the integrity of the rod. Instead it shipped in a white plastic bag with a small plastic tube provided by SureFire to hold the product when it is not in use. I am sure the plastic envelope went though many USPS sorting machines and may have affected the trueness of the rod. I was more disappointed with how this was shipped by Brownell's than the product itself at over $80 with shipping. If you have a 24 inch 22 cal Dewey cleaning rod it does the same thing as a substitute. I returned the product and am waiting for a return to process, and would have kept the product if Brownell's shipped it in a protective box.
