LEE PRECISION - Steel 38-55 WCF 3-Die Rifle Set

Just so everyone knows... Not my 1st choice but Lee dies are the only thing available at this time. Anyway, dies work fine and are accurate EXCEPT... the expanding plug to open up the case neck is .357. For those of you who do not know, the cartridge is designed for 9mm/ .355 bullets. .355 is the bore size according to the SAMMI drawings. CMMG confirmed which is the barrel I purchased to "step up" from a 357Max AR project I played with. I'm in contact with Lee but haven't heard back from the yet. Worst case, I'll have to buy Lee P.N. SE2413 (.355 expand plug).

This review is for Lee .350 Legend 3-die set. I decided to try a .350 Legend AR build, so I bought 200 pcs of Browning .350 Legend brass and this die set. The expander plug "floats" inside the die, supposedly to bump all the powder out of your funnel (if you were dumping powder on the same step - which I do not). Every case I ran thru the expander came out with a lopsided mouth - some worse than others. I needed to anneal all the brass, resize it, and run it thru a carefully adjusted Lyman 9mm pistol expander die to get a correct mouth size and shape. The sizing die and bullet seater work just fine, as does the addition Factory Crimp Die that I use on all semiauto cartridges. Either the floating plug wobbles or the die itself is somehow off center. Either way, this is unusual for Lee dies - I've been using them for over 55 years. This is my first critical review of a Lee product.
