L.E. WILSON PISTOL MAX CASE GAGES

The most important use of a cartridge case gage is for setting up 7⁄8"-14 press type full length resizing dies. A common error in reloading is to oversize your brass. Headspace of fired cases can quickly and accurately be measured using this tool and a caliper.

Pistol Max Gage 40 S-W by L.E. Wilson
I use this to gauge all of my 40 s&w reloading brass. I want to make sure that the cases are not bulged. Tolerance is tight on this gauge which I like so reloads will feed from magazine easy and operate good in firearm. Good craftsmanship of gauge. This should be a must to have if you reload. I would highly recommend.
