What is the WARNE MFG. COMPANY - LR-SKEL EXTENDED SKELETONIZED MSR MOUNTS?

The LR-SKEL Mount offers 20 MOA built-in slope for long range precision shooting. This allows additional elevation adjustment in your optic when shooting ranges over 600 yards. The LR-SKEL Mount is CNC precision machined from 6061 aluminum and Warne has been able to reduce the weight by over 30%, compared to our R.A.M.P. Mount by utilizing a skeletonized body and ring caps. The LR-SKEL provides an additional inch of forward cantilever, compared to the original SKEL Mount to provide proper eye relief when using scopes with large eye boxes and gives extra space behind the mount for accessories like the Warne A645 45° side mount adapter.

Great mount for the price
Have used this mount on two different AR builds. Nice looking, sturdy, Would buy again.

Heavy Duty Good looking Scope mount
This scope mount is well built and easy to install. I mounted it on my .224 Valkyrie. Mounting was easy and every thing had good clearance.

Warne 20 Moa mount.
Really can't go wrong with Warne mounts and rings. Built like tanks and easy to install. I put this on my Savage MSR 10 LR.

Not so good
The screws that hold the top clamp or ring down are threaded into cheap sleeves or inserts that are pressed (and glued?) into the lower holes of the mount. One of the sleeves was either stripped or not properly tapped when I went to mount my scope. I didnt cross-thread it and only tightened to 18 inch-pounds, per my scopes factory torque spec. Im not able to evenly space the gap between the top clamp and bottom because that insert only has threads towards the bottom, therefore one side of the clamp is almost touching while the other side is considerably spread apart (possibly pinching the scope?) and looks like junk (pet peeve, I hate uneven gap in scope rings) I should have went with a more expensive mount that had the bottom threads properly tapped into the mount itself.. you get what you pay for.
