AERO PRECISION - Pro Ambidextrous Safety Selector for AR-15 Black

I’m not sure why this product doesn’t have more positive reviews. The travel is much smoother than the milspec safety it replaced. I would very much recommend this product to anyone running an AR15 in California especially if you are running a Maglok Kingpin or the Juggernaut Tactical Hellfighter Pin. Since both of these takedown pins protrude more than a standard takedown pin, they tend to get in the way when trying to quickly find the fire selector/safety switch. I find that it’s easier to engage the safety with my trigger/index finger and disengage the safety with my thumb as a right-handed shooter. Easy to install, looks great and the option to run either 45 or 90 throw is pretty great. The only negative I can speak to is the fact that this part is kind of expensive but the finish looks flawless and functionality is great so I would definitely buy again.

I bought 2 of these, one for an ar-15 build and one for ar-10. It is a very tight fit on the ar-10 but loosened up with a bit of oil and working it a dozen or so times. I really like the option for 45 degree or 90 degree throw. I also like the ability to have the shorted lever on my firing side.

I installed it, gave it a somewhat quick honest effort of liking it but in the end it came off as I really didn't like it at all. Watching a Youtube video vs trying it out first hand are two different things. I prefer the standard safety. 90 degrees on one side is totally fine with me and I don't feel like I'm missing out on anything.

Bought a few of these selector switch just because I have a few Aero Precision EPC-9 receiver kits to build. It turns out they didn’t mill the 45-degree selector channel right (I didn’t test the 90-degree side) and it completely ground out the first detent in one of the rifles I built. The detent got stuck and didn’t come out at all. Since the detent was ground flat I was able to remove the selector by just hammering the selector switch. Ended up using a Dremel to grind and polish the selector switch channel before reinstalling it, which now works much better. I can’t recommend this product at all since there are better products out there at similar pricing and since this product requires grinding to make work

I installed it, gave it a good honest effort of interest and didn't like it so I will not be using it.
