What is the TANGODOWN - Picatinny Standard Vertical Grip Polymer Dark Earth?

Quick-release, dual locking bars provide a rock-solid mounting interface to Mil-Std 1913 rails. Large diameter, ribbed grip helps prevent hand fatigue and cramping during long periods in the ready position. Oversized storage compartment is large enough for spare batteries or parts, including a complete M4/M16 bolt assembly. O-ring on cap forms a waterproof seal down to 66 ft. deep. Remove side filler panel to mount a light/laser remote pressure switch in the integral switch pocket.

SPECS: Resin polymer, black or dark earth. 4Ñ•" (12.1cm) long.

Reviews Summary
The PICATINNY STANDARD VERTICAL GRIP impresses with its solid and sturdy design but poses installation challenges and compatibility issues with certain rail types. While many users find it dependable post-installation, concerns about its mounting mechanism and weight persist. Overall, it's well-received for its performance on MIL-SPEC rails, though buyers should proceed with caution on others.
What Reviewers Are Saying
Installation Difficulty
60%
Numerous reviews highlight the challenges faced during installation, especially on non-MIL-SPEC rails. Many users mention the need for additional tools or techniques, such as using zip ties or strength to secure the grip properly. This theme resonates strongly among buyers who advise potential customers to be prepared for a tough installation process.
Stability and Fit
70%
Once installed, the grip generally receives positive feedback regarding its stability and solid fit on compatible rails, particularly MIL-SPEC. Users appreciate the absence of movement after installation, which enhances performance and reliability during use. However, there are mixed experiences, with some mentioning wobbliness on certain rail types.
Compatibility Issues
50%
Several customers express frustration over compatibility with different rail systems. While the grip works well on certain systems like Magpul mil-spec rails, others report difficulty fitting it onto different styles, leading to safety concerns about the fastening mechanism. This theme points to the need for considerations regarding the type of rail before purchase.
Design and Usability
40%
Reviewers often mention the grip's design, with some noting that its size and weight can be cumbersome. The inclusion of a side pocket for lights is appreciated, but the limitation on switch fitment raises issues for some users. Overall, while the design is robust, it may not cater to all user preferences effectively.
Value for Money
30%
Mixed opinions persist on the value of the grip, with some users feeling that it isn't worth the price due to installation difficulties and compatibility issues. Others feel justified by its sturdiness and reliability once mounted, which represents a potential trade-off between cost and performance, impacting buyer satisfaction.

Quality cost but buy once and your done.
Love the Tango Down foregrips. Once installed them do not move or come loose. Have a side pocket for your light. Well thought out.

Perfect for clone build
Got this for my M4A1 Sopmodblock2 build... really hard to install if you dont remove the bottom section on the DD RIS II rail, but not impossible... you just have to use force.

Rock solid grip; worth every penny
After reading some of the mixed reviews,I was questioning whether or not I wanted to buy this grip. I took a chance and can't be happier with the grip. Well made and was able to install by myself onto a 4" section of Samson Evolution Rail. Tango Down also now provides "grip chips" to help in pulling down the tabs while installing the grip. Once mounted, the locking tabs popped into the rail grooves and I had ZERO movement or wiggle on my rail. Anyone that has Samson rails and was curious about this grip; it has a very snug fit.

awesome grip
This grip is solid, very nicely made. It is somewhat difficult to get on but definitely doable by yourself, and to get it off by yourself is really difficult in all honesty. Flimsy? No freaking way!!!!!!!!! If you're looking to mount it and leave it, this is great. If for some odd reason you want to take it on and off, get the qd model.

Solid grip, tight fit, but....
Solid grip, tight fit, but... Picatinny rail compatibility is spotty at best if your firearm has a unibody rail or one that's not proper MIL-SPEC rail. BUT if your able to use the recommended MIL-SPEC aluminum rail, it's rock solid. I currently have mine on a Tavor X95 and it needed a mallet to install, the fasteners clicked into place, used the fastener key to make sure the clip buttons were all the way extended into the rail slots. The grip is comfy and solid, though the X95 has more wiggle than you'd love, it's because the Tavor is nearly all polymer bullpup. Still awesomeness! All on all good grip, but just be careful if you order this thinking it's def going to fit. Have a back up thing to put it on of it doesn't
