What is the MAGPUL - RANGER PLATE™ 5.56X45MM FLOOR PLATE FOR USGI 30RD AR15 MAGAZINE?

The Magpul Ranger Plate is a floorplate replacement for current issue aluminum USGI 30-round magazines. It incorporates an integral loop, floorplate lock, and mag identifier. When installed on the base of a magazine, the Ranger Plate provides unsurpassed speed and controllability during high stress, tactical magazine changes. Loop is made of pliable Santoprene rubber overmolded onto a stainless steel plate. Patented design based upon the tried and true para-cord loops and duct-tape tabs currently in use with special warfare units worldwide.

Made in the USA.

This item is an essential addition to any gi AR mag. It really makes a difference in mag changes, especially under pressure. Downside is that the price is a little high but such is life. T

On Every Mag I Can Put It On!

Not only aids in grasping the magazine, but more importantly turns the mag into a monopod. The only downside is that it extends the length of the magazine so it may not longer fit in closed-top pouches, such as found in a lot of tactical vests. Easily solved by adding a velcro extension to most vest closures...

USGI RANGER pulls

These are nice, smaller than the rubber loop pulls, relatively easy to install. The only problem is you lose 1 round in the magazine. It’ll fit but the magazine won’t catch. Not a big deal as I have plenty of magazines to compensate.

Fits Mil-Spec Mags

Well made, sturdy, easy to use. Fits mil-spec 20 and 30 rd mags perfectly however cuts down capacity by 2 rounds (Hence the 4 star rating). If you're cool with that, go for it. I'm not so will not be using them because when the spam hits the fan, ya just might need 'em!!!
