What is the WILSON COMBAT - Recoil System-Govt./Gold Cup-.45 ACP?

Easy-to-install kit instantly improves cycling, reliability and accuracy without modifying the frame or the slide. Exclusive, injection-molded, polyfiber buffers slip onto the guide rod be- tween the head and spring and keep the slide from hitting the frame. Prevents expensive frame damage and softens the felt recoil of high power competition loads. Full-length guide rod keeps the recoil spring straight for smoother functioning and longer spring life. Together they provide consistent barrel lockup and increased accuracy.

SPECS: Kit includes 416 stainless steel one-piece, full-length guide rod and plug, 6 Shok-Buff washers, 1 light recoil spring, 1 heavy recoil spring, 1 extra power firing pin return spring. Fits 1911 Auto models and calibers listed only.

Great product
Wilson Combat has done a fantastic job. No burs. Nice and clean no fitting Barry easy to use part. Drop in with no problems. Very nice looking product I have been using these for years and years and I have never had a problem at all with this.

Wilson Combat recoil kit
I bought this because "why not?". This is supposed to be a drop in kit and it was. Required minimal effort to assemble and disassemble, fit well, and looks fine. As far as any benefits, I will put some rounds through it and we'll see how it goes. If you're looking to get your full size baby a little something nice, this kit seems to be a good option. I will say that the stiffer recoil spring is a little longer than stock which made me wonder how install would go, but it fit perfectly

BUY THIS FOR FULL SIZE 1911
Replaced 2 pc. Rod on loaded springer 1911 with this using heavy spring & buffer. No function errors at all! Groups hardball very well, still ejects very well! Really recommend it, tool no longer needed to field strip. Buffer seems like it works & will last awhile, heavier spring is noticable for sure.

Must Buy for 5in 1911
Installing this into your governemnt 1911 is like a pro working over your gun. Just bought a 2nd guide rod kit for my friends P14. Installed my guide rod into the P14 just to check it out, wow what a difference it make for it too. Recommend you lube the rails with high quality bearing grease and work it back and forth a 100 times or so. Did this for my SA GI stainless model and its so smooth I call it my cheap race gun.
