Perfect…..
My wife might disagree, but I think I’m a simple guy. When something works exactly as advertised, l’m happy. This worked great, and I’m thrilled. I used a 17/64” drill bit in my press to make a guide from a 3/4” plywood scrap. Oiled the tap and it went in clean and straight! Cleaned the hole, installed the new bushing with a drop of blue threadlocker, and done! Like I said, thrilled!

Excellent Solution to a Common Problem
Too many 1911's come in with one or more grip bushings stripped out, sometimes by other "professional gunsmiths". This is an easy, reliable, sturdy solution to the problem. Square the tap to the grip, use lots of cutting oil, and in a few minutes, you're ready to install the new bushing. Nothing is easier!
