What is the VOLQUARTSEN - Ruger Mark IV Extended Bolt Release Black?

Tired of dealing with that hard-to-actuate bolt release on your Ruger Mark IV pistol? Swap it out with an enhanced option from Volquartsen! The company's Extended Bolt Release is purpose-built to provide easier operation. Each Volquartsen Extended Bolt Release provides Ruger Mark IV owners with an enlarged surface area, allowing them to get more of a handle on the release with their strong-side thumb. To ensure engagement, the surface of the release is textured with deep serrations, allowing users to get their bolt in motion easier than ever before. Each Volquartsen Extended Bolt Release can be had in either black or stainless-steel finishes.

Great product
I have LOK grips on my mark iv and this extended bolt release works flawlessly very happy with it. The factory release is a little slick and I found I had to rotate my hand on the grip to push the bolt release this new one has more aggressive traction and works great.

Subtle But Effective
Another reviewer had mentioned that this bolt release will bind up with Hogue grips so I figured I'd add my experience. I haven't had any issues with it binding at all with my installed Hogue grips (standard rubberized with finger grooves). The bolt release itself has more grippiness, making it easier to locate and operate while shooting. It doesn't extend out significantly compared to the stock release, which may be a good or bad thing, depending on your needs. The

Too thick. Binds.
The bolt release is too thick and binds when the top left grip screw is tightened. I have the same bolt release on another Mark IV with Volquartsen grips and it works fine, but this one does not work with Hogue grips.
