Great For Making Vintage Grip Screws

I just couldn't find grip screws for rare vintage S&W revolver grips and nobody makes long enough ones with the right thread. I bought some inexpensive dies and with a few basic tools made my own from these #4 blanks. Had to re-shape the head etc. but they worked.

Great addition for old guns

I like to refurbish antique weapons. Many times I cannot find the parts that I need. This screw set allows me to create a longer screws that I need in the odd thread pitch that shows up.

When you need an unavailable screw....

Gents, When you need a screw that doesn't exist, here is the solution. These screws are made out of some very tough steel. As a result, they are somewhat tough to cut with a die. Yeah, you have to supply the correct die for your thread, or cut them in the lathe. The screws can be annealed for easier working. The screw heads have a narrow slot, which is great for european style screws, or can be recut or filed wider for American style screw heads. The screw heads are fillister style, but they are thick enough to be turned turned to a flat head, or flat oval. I have thinned the head thickness in the lathe, by cutting material from the underside of the head. I have, over the yeas bought this set a few times.

Only source I found, invaluable for making lost and long obsolete screws. Especially old European flintlock where the maker made screws that are in between sizes, like 6.3mm for example.
