Quality 4 oz. Hammers are hard to find. This one is great. I wanted a Plumb brand, but that was apparently unobtainable. This Master brand is a great alternative.

Just a nice normal ball peen hammer with a standard shaped hardwood handle. Looks like a smaller copy of an 8 oz I bought in 1975.

A Vaughan hammer
Grace brass and copper hammers shine, but as far as the steel ballpeen hammer goes, I should have read this review before I bought it: Not a GRACE USA Made Hammer I was disappointed to open my Brownell's box to find my 4 oz. Ballpeen Hammer by GRACE USA is made by Vaughan. While Vaughan makes an excellent hammer right here in the USA, it's disappointing to find that my GRACE USA ballpeen hammer designed for gunsmithing is really a regular Vaughan ballpeen that can be bought just about anywhere. It will do the job, but I wish I hadn't spent the money on the "gunsmithing" version. The hammer will function better if the face and ball are polished smooth before use. Also, lacquer everywhere, including the head.

I was disappointed to open my Brownell's box to find my 4 oz. Ballpeen Hammer by GRACE USA is made by Vaughan. While Vaughan makes an excellent hammer right here in the USA, it's disappointing to find that my GRACE USA ballpeen hammer designed for gunsmithing is really a regular Vaughan ballpeen that can be bought just about anywhere. It will do the job, but I wish I hadn't spent the money on the "gunsmithing" version.
