What is the LYMAN - RIFLE "M" DIES?

Expands and flares the case mouth to help ensure consistent bullet seating during reloading. Two-step operation gives brass a longer service life because it doesn't stretch the case like a standard expander button. When used to reload cast bullets it prevents "shaving" bullet material during seating. Hardened steel, heat treated to Rc 50 and hand polished before and after to an 8 RMS finish. Shellholder not included.

great for seating cast bullets or after trimming
Using the M-die to both give the case a bit of flair to help with seating cast and non boat tail bullets, but also if you are trimming cases to size, the M-die helps clean up the cut edges so you might not need to chamfer and deburr the cases. I have them for quite a few calibers I load, especially if I"m using cast and powder coated bullets. better than the Lee universal setup.

A must for progressive reloading
I noticed inconsistant pulls when loading on the progressive. Also projectiles rarely stay put when seating. This die fixes those issues. I don't use it to flare the mouth, but to condition the neck to accept the projectiles. It makes getting into a rythem much easier and my rounds are more consistant.

This is a great product to ensure proper neck sizing and, if necessary, slightly flare the casing to make bullet insertion easier and prevent shaving of bullets. Very helpful with flat based bullets.
