REDDING - PRIMER POCKET UNIFORMERS

I have both the large and small cutters along with the handles and drill adapter. I have found the cutters to be and stay very sharp and they still cut great. If I only have a few cases to do (50 or so) I'll use the handle if I have the time. You have to be very careful using a drill, and keep the tool straight. If you tilt the tool on a drill, it will over cut the sides of the primer pockets and cause loose primes. I know this because I've done it when I was in a hurry.

This is a great tool. It is accurate and with the carbide cutter will last for ages. Sets all the primer pocket depths to uniform depths. Only set back is that the adapter included for attaching to a power drill does not screw on correctly. It went on half way before getting stuck on the threads. Luckily I just put one of my taps through to open up the threads slightly allowing the adapter to screw the entire way on.

This was the first primer pocket uniformer that I bought. I used it for about three years and was not satisfied with it's performance. It seemed to be dull from the start and only got more dull with time. I didn't know that any other unit would be better. One day, my girlfriend accidentally threw the Redding unit away while cleaning, so I decided to try the Sinclair version. I have now used the Sinclair for over two years and it cuts as well as the very first time I used it. No comparison to the Redding unit and I'm actually glad my Redding was thrown away. Sinclair products aren't the cheapest, but I have yet to find a higher quality manufacturer.
