Simple yet effective
This is the simplest way to smooth out an M&P trigger. The install can be a pain with some models (Shield, for example), but overall it's a good investment.
Essentially, this one part alone does at least 75% of what any M&P trigger kit will do.
It removes the creep, smooths out the motion, and makes the trigger pull that much more consistent.
Good stuff.
Must Have for an M&P Action Job
I install one of these as part of my “action job” on new M&P pistols. The other parts I install are a complete Performance Center sear housing and thumb safety lever/spring/detent, all available on e-Bay. It turns a standard M&P into the equivalent of a PC gun in a few minutes for under $100.
Finishing touch on action job
This little gem is the final touch on a nice action job or trigger pull reduction. Smooths our that take up and last little bit is press. If you have factory Standard sights. (Not night sights) you can use a punch and manage to get the rear sight off for instillation. If you have night sights, DO NOT use a punch! You risk breaking the tritium. Ive put on hundreds of sight sets over the years and never an issue because I used a sight pusher. All the ones that I fixed from someone else putting them on, they used a punch. This striker safety is the difference between a good trigger and a great one. Worth the time and effort
smooth out the trigger in 5 min
This took all of 5 min to install, Loosen sight set screw, Remove the rear sight, replace the striker block and spring and install the rear sight. The included tool is to hold the spring in place as you install the rear sight, NOT to drive the sight in or out. I did not use it as my sight easily slid in and out with only slight tapping with a mar free hammer and I just held the spring down with my thumb. The factory trigger will smooth out after several hundred rounds but this makes it good from the start. I have used these on 3 M&P's so far and am ordering 3 more.
Butter smooth and definitely worth it!
I switched out the standard firing pin block to this ultimate striker block and it was worth the price. Easy to switch out and gets rid of all the bumps and grit in the standard firing pin block. Makes the reset smooth as well. A must for any M&P enthusiast.
Smooths out takeup tons
The good news is this smooths out the takeup on the stock trigger, but the bad news is you have to yank the rear sight (the included tool is NOT going to help you with this) and you still have to deal with the hinged trigger.
