Beautiful walnut stocks
I got these walnut stocks for my grandchildren for their Ruger 10/22s. They are beautiful to look at and fit great. I have their names and birthdays engraved in the wood.

The wood is walnut and oil finished. I think I got lucky with the wood I received. It's not just a plain straight grain. Has a burl look to the wood, especially on one side. The finish on mine is basically perfect and the butt plate to stock match is really close to being perfect. For a hundred or so bucks? In my opinion a real bargain and the friends I've shown it to? (Experienced, no joke good competitive shooters who are not not easily impressed...) They were impressed, especially considering the price. Of course there are people who would rather have a shiny, polyurethane type finish. Copy that. I did have one issue. The 10/22 I will be putting the stock on is older, and came with a walnut, checkered stock with no front band. The old bolt when putting on the youth stock bottomed out into the rifle maybe a 32nd before the stock mated tightly to the rifle. Turns out Brownells sells a bolt made by Volquartsen that is just a little bit shorter. Problem solved!

Nice finish, fits perfect, looks nicer than stock. My average size 7YO can now shoulder the rifle. Very easy install Glad I purchased it.

I bought this a year ago for my daughter. I am really happy with its performance. Fits the 10/22 receiver and barrel like the original stock. Very comfortable for my daughter no problems. I wasn't overly impressed with the look of the finish on the stock. So this weekend I decided to put a couple coats of polyurethane over it and see how it looks. I think it made a huge difference. Thought I would share some before and after pictures.

Pricey, but very nice wood. I was pleasantly surprised with the quality. Easy to install. It looks so nice, it will be a shame to have to switch it to an adult size stock once my son outgrows it.

My eight year old daughter tried shooting my 10/22 and it was a stretch for her, so I went looking online and found this item. Delivery was very fast. It fit very nicely, no alignment issues. Took all of the kids out to the range and really liked not having to stretch so far to get a decent sight picture. The youth stock doesnt have the high gloss finish of the standard Ruger stock, but it made me think of the plain functional look of the old military weapons when they used wood. I'm very inpressed with the product and service and will look here first in the future when I need anything firearms related.
Better than expected! Im impressed
Based on the reviews I was not expecting this stock to look this good or fit this well. It is a nice stock! Looks to be nice walnut with great figure; way better than the OEM Ruger birch. Fit was flawless; 30 second install. Free floats the barrel and has no fit issues; very small symmetrical gaps on either side of the barrel. As for dimensions, its perfect for my small 9 year old daughter. Perfect LOP and good comb profile; well sized wrist for the small hand. Perfect. Is she can handle the 10/22. The only things keeping it from 5 stars are some very minor finish issues (some rough wood and a minor gap at back of receiver) and no sling swivel studs. I would give it 4.5 stars as these are very minor and easy to remedy.
