No Batteries No Worries
I really like this sight it's been a wonder for my aging eyes. The dot is large enough to find quickly and is right on after sighing it in. I like the fact that it doesn't require batteries and the dot is always the right intensity to be seen under any light conditions. It could be literally a life saver. It's on my side from the time I wake to the time I go to bed.
Great for my 17
Had my eye on one of these for a while, settled on this one because of the large triangle, it's very bright with any ambient light from the fiber optic and if your out at night the tritium is plenty bright before your eyes adjust. I use it with both eyes open. Installed on my glock 17 and no problems whatsoever with it or any trijicon products I've bought before
INDESTRUCTIBLE and NEVER LOST ZERO
I mounted an RMR sight first on my Glock 30, then on my Glock 20. It never faltered or lost zero, but I did use Blue Loc-Tite on the mounting screws just to be sure. It gets much brighter under light, and under sunlight it's the brightest sight you'll ever point down range, also, the RMR isn't blinding in a dark hallway. With a flashlight on the model 20, I never had any issues with the dot being bleached out. I can't say that I've ever seen the sight fog up, or glare in sunlight. I even tried it on a semi auto 12 gauge, and it performed flawlessly. After getting used to it, personally the 7.0 dot was a bit too small for my taste, so on my 10mm, 2011 I'll be changing to the Triangle Optic as it will be my carry piece. This sight will never let you down, the man that bought it from me 4 years ago still runs it on his competition pistol as of today, and he is an absolute perfectionist.
Stripped Screws
couldn't remove the sight. the screws provided were stripped after being hand tightened.
THE TRIANGLE IS VERY DIFFICULT TO SEE!
The triangle washes out when looking into any area thats brighter than where you are standing. When shining a light on your target the reticle disappears completely. Only really works when in complete daylight or complete darkness. If your standing in a dark spot and aiming towards a light spot, you cant use the sight. A sight needs to be visible in all lighting situations to be effective and viable. I returned this for an adj. LED model. Too bad because the thought of no batteries/electronics to fail is the closest thing to perfect in a sight to me.
Save your money and buy anything else
I purchased to add on to my competition glock 17. It's custom cut slide works great w/ the gun wich has been tricked out as a comp. only & the slide is currently cut for a vortex venom. I had a new slide done specifically for the RmR b/c of trijicons reputation, w/o having spent a thorough look into the brass tacks of its inner workings. The first issue is the sight comes in the mini pelican case w/ 2 screws a small Allen and manual. No mount of any kind. The dim orange/Amber dot is difficult to even see,but it could be b/c the view point is much smaller than the standard for any sm. reflx I've ever looked through. It's overall design is bad
Too dim.
The sight is great except that on an overcast day at a covered range the sight is so dim that you almost cannot see it at all. You must carefully find the triangle then carefully move it over the target without losing sight of it. Outdoors on a sunny day I'm sure it works fine. In a dark room you have to wait until your eyes are used to the darkness before the dim sight becomes usable.
Too dim
This sight is much dimmer than the 9 MOA dot I also have. Works OK in direct sunlight but is too dim to be used inside or on a covered range.
