Always on the Bench

I always keep a can on the bench. I use it to coat the bore of every gun after I’m finished cleaning and I run a dry patch through before I head for the range. It’s amazing what that patch picks up after soaking in the bore for awhile.

Rem Oil changed in 2018

Remington changed the formulation because folks complained of it being too thin. It now has a higher viscosity and it appears the Teflon was removed as well. Brownells only sells the 'new' formulation and it is thus thicker. I like both the old and the new Rem Oils, but I wish they would have kept making the thinner oil (with Teflon) as well.

This is my preferred "gun oil" When breaking down my firearms, I like to use the solvent, blow clean with high pressure air, spray with the Rem Oil, then give it another blast o air to drive the oil deep into all the moving parts, and to get rid of the extra. Nice oil. I actually prefer this to Break Free.

Good oil, should have bought the liquid.

Nice thin oil for protecting parts and ensuring oil gets into all nooks and crannies. Spray can is probably nice for rifles, for my pistol I should have gotten the liquid oil. I spray it on a cloth and wipe down all the steel parts. Spraying on the parts puts on too much.
