NT-1500 DELUXE NECK TURNING TOOL Reviews & Ratings

SINCLAIR NT-1500 DELUXE NECK TURNING TOOL

The Sinclair NT-1500 Neck Turning Tool’s ergonomic exterior is a slightly scaled down version of the premium model and features fine (80 threads per inch) adjustment on the cutter depth screw. The adjustment screw is engraved with hash-marks for easy fine-tune adjustment. Each mark on the adjustment screw corresponds to an approximate 0.001" change in cutting depth (0.00104" to be exact), making it extremely easy to adjust well within 0.0005" of a specific neck wall diameter.

  • Fine cutting depth adjustment (0.001” Adjustments)
  • High speed tool steel cutter
  • Hard coat anodized finish

The NT-1500 comes either by itself, or with the Sinclair Neck Turning Handle included and utilizes the same high speed tool steel cutter as our other neck turning tools. Excepts all Sinclair Mandrels .17 thru 338.

Nice adjustable neck turning tool
The Sinclair NT1500 is very easy to adjust and use but mine has a cutting edge that only contacts the brass at the point of the edge. The rest of the blade never touches the brass causing it to cut ridges. I spent 20 minutes per neck trying to get a smooth cut but cannot. I also have the Sinclair model 1000, the entire cutting edge makes contact with the neck leaving a clean, smooth cut without the ridges. I probably received a lemon which doesnt say much for Sinclairs quality control. Unfortunately the model 1000 isnt near as easy to adjust as the NT1500. Possibly a different cutting edge would fix the problem but I cannot find a replacement on Brownells web site. Very disappointing. It would certainly be a great product if the cutting edge wasnt canted so much it only cuts at a needle point.
