Replacing an old one
I was glad to find the exact Pachmyr I needed. My customer wanted a synthetic or laminate stock for his A5. No problem. Costly, but not a problem. The new stock was a different shape compared to the old recoil pad. Time for a new one. This one was not slit, but slitting is part of the install, so again no problem. As I sanded it down to shape, i noticed that the hard layer seemed tougher than other butt plates I have shaped. The soft section actually cut away quite well.

Beautiful pad
Thank goodness Pachmyer has removed the plate from their pads. I've always liked their pads but the plate was a problem and you had to order just the right size to keep from grinding into the plate. Other than that, they are a great pad and easy to grind to fit.

An unbeatable classic!
I could not begin to count how many of these I have installed over the years. No other pad works better. It does require some skill in sanding the pad to fit your stock, for which I highly recommend your purchase of one of the adjustable tilt sanding fixtures from Brownells. Once you have that along with a disc sander, you are in business! I've been using these for 60 years. Pachmayr and Brownells are 2 names you can trust!

Great product at a very good price
This pad is easy to install, it grinds down easily, and cleans up well. The padding is firm to shoulder but it gives a comfortable recoil reduction. Definitely will continue offer to customers looking for economical way to reduce recoil on shotguns.
