B-GC BROWNELLS/GEISSELE COMPETITION 1-STAGE TRIGGER FOR AR-15 Reviews & Ratings

B-GC (Brownells / Geissele Competition)

Don't Spend a Fortune!

Available ONLY at Brownells

Geissele and Brownells have teamed up to offer two unique triggers that give you the best performance at the best price! As one of the oldest and largest distributors of Geissele products, we had the unique opportunity to sit down with them to spec out two AR-15 triggers that wring out every bit of the performance Geissele is famous for. We also wanted to deliver them at a price point that won't make Geissele fans wait until a Black Friday sale to upgrade their current trigger!

We found ways to reduce production costs on things that don't sacrifice the legendary Geissele trigger performance. So these triggers are not laser-engraved (which you can't see anyway when they're in the gun), and they're batch-tested rather than individually inspected. Rest assured, if for ANY reason you’re not satisfied with your Brownells-exclusive Geissele trigger, it's still Guaranteed. Forever.® Simply return it to us for refund or exchange if it doesn’t meet your expectations.

Remember: you can't get these triggers anywhere else. They are available EXCLUSIVELY from Brownells!

What Reviewers Are Saying
Trigger Performance
60%
Many reviewers highlight the trigger's smooth and crisp pull, with a very short reset that enhances rapid firing capabilities. It is especially favored for competition and quick follow-up shots, although some users noted inconsistencies in pull weight and light strikes.
Installation Difficulty
45%
Several reviews mention that the installation process can be challenging, with missing pins and insufficient instructions leading to frustration. Users suggest having experience with AR triggers is beneficial, though many acknowledge the performance makes the effort worthwhile.
Material Quality and Construction
30%
A recurring concern is the quality of materials, with some reviewers indicating that the trigger feels less robust compared to higher-end Geissele products. Reports of lighter metals and inconsistent performance have been noted, causing some buyers to question the overall value.
Reliability Concerns
35%
Some users experienced reliability issues, such as light primer strikes and unintended full-auto discharges due to the short reset. While many found it dependable in rapid engagements, a notable subset expressed concerns regarding its suitability for tactical use without thorough training and caution.
Value for Money
50%
User reviews frequently cite the trigger's affordability as a key positive, especially when compared to more expensive models. Many feel it offers excellent performance for the price, particularly during sales, making it an attractive option for those hesitant to spend more on a trigger.

Light Strikes
I get light strikes with this competition trigger. Did not have any problems with the original MILSPEC trigger. Looks like I need a stronger hammer spring? I think I was using Federal brand 5.56 ammo. I hesitate to recommend this trigger with light strikes, but I will say it is awesome for timed fire competition (i.e. rounds on target quickly).

Just ok.
There are no spots that you can feel any hangups, but you can feel the creep. It shouldn't be. They should be so smooth you don't know when it is going to break. I can tell when it is going to break. I was hoping for better. I think that this is why these are discounted for about half the price as one would normally pay for same elsewhere. Also, these are cast metal, not the normal tool steel that Geissele normally uses. Just my two cents worth.
3
Not like the original
Seems made out of softer metal, you could note that installing the pins. Does not have the crisp break, just kind of slides off. Not saying it’s bad, but it’s definitely not original quality. When they say they found a way to make them cheaper, yes they did and it shows. You get what you pay for….I should have shelled out the extra $100 for the original.
3
Love/Hate
I love and hate this trigger. First, it functions well, is crisp, and very shootable. However, I feel like you need to be the Incredible Hulk just to install it. I have installed several triggers to include other Geissele triggers and none of them have been as challenging as this one. Glad that once it is in, you shouldn't ever need to remove/reinstall it.
3
Trigger placement
I havent fired this trigger as of yet. But as I assembled the trigger, I was amazed of how HARD it was to process the parts together. Ive been assembling firearms for over 30yrs. Trained with ppl from NAVY Seals, Rangers, etc. When I purchased the trigger, maybe I didnt read the writing correctly, but it seamed to say it was easier to place the trigger in the firearm. Or Im just getting older...Lol...Brownells has been a great company. But this trigger assembly was a hard one. Just be strong and have a lot of patience.

Geissele Rapid Fire Trigger
Just OK. Does not reset trigger with CMMG ramped bolt in dedicated colt pattern 9mm AR lower PCC. Preforms only slightly better than polished milspec triggers I have in AR's with 5.56 bolts. Keeping it in 300 BO AR pistol but probably would not purchase again.
