C&S trigger kit
All of the components necessary for a 4lb. Trigger pull in a 1911.
Worth every penny....
I have built dozens of custom 1911 and 2011 pistols, as well as "gutted" many and used this fire control set in place of the OEM parts. C&S is the only set I use for this need. I have installed them all at one time or another, but the consistency with C&S is 100%. Any of the C&S kits will work for your need. I sound like I work for them! ;) If I could give it 10 stars, I would.
Awesome hammer sear set
This is truly a drop in trigger job. Ive purchased 3 sets so far. Two went into Kimbers and the last one I purchased went into a Springfield EMP4. All 3 pistols were under a 4lb pull with factory springs and zero creep. The EMP4 has a 3.25lb. pull weight. These hammer and sear sets are amazing.
Big Improvement but needed some fitting
I put this kit along with a Cylinder & Slide hammer strut into a Rock Island Armory Tac Ultra 45 acp. The stock trigger was heavy, had some grit and a little creep. The Low mass kit solved all those problems. I did have to file the safety and remove some material from the hammer strut to get the kit to fit, Bought a second kit for another RIA I have in 10mm. Not a big fan of speed of deliver with Brownells though. They are slower than most online retailers.
Awesome Trigger, Some Fitting Required
I found I needed to lightly stone and polish the hammer and sear to remove tiny burrs where the hardness tests were made. The disconnect also had a small burr on the corner of the surface that mates to the trigger bow that needed to be stoned and polished. The disconnect flaw, especially, should have been detected and resolved before the kit was shipped. That said, it was easy to achieve a super-crisp 3 1/2 pound trigger with minor adjustment to the sear spring (see Jack Weigand's article on Brownell's site). I wanted a 4 pound Service Pistol weight of pull and chose to adjust a standard spring rather than the light-pull spring that came with the kit. I couldn't be happier with the trigger. The mating surfaces must be nearly perfect.
