Very well-made. It is not machined to keep the firing pin from lifting. I shouldn’t have assumed that this common modification was part of it, but that’s not Brownell’s fault.

Excellent 10/22 Bolt
The Brownells' BRN-22 Bolt Assembly has a slick nitride finish and the CNC work is very nice. I did have a bit of an issue with the extractor binding (due to a bur) that I had to work out by actuating the extractor by hand a hundred times or so and now it is operating smoothly. Nice upgrade to the OEM bolt and works perfectly in the Brownells' BRN-22 receiver.

New Brownell's bolt worked great!
During installation, I over lubricated the new bolt on my Ruger 10/22 Target. This lead to weak firing pin strikes and misfires. After cleaning out the excess lubrication, I had no problems with ignition. I finished up firing 2 five shot groups at 50 yards which were less than 1/2 inch. I have a custom barrel will a Benz chamber.
