GG&G, INC. - Mini Red Dot Mount

I had looked at scope mounting options for my Ranch Rifle and there we several but all had pretty bad reviews. I was really only wanting to mount a red dot and came across this. This had no reviews so I was hesitant. I am very pleased with the product - great quality and easy to install. Just make sure that you follow the directions provided..

Just as advertised, no gunsmithing needed. Bolted right on and was able to find the paper on first clip.

I use this product to mount an Aimpoint CompC3 Red Dot Sight on my Mini 14 Ranch Rifle. This accessory gives your Ranch Rifle a true Mil-Std. Picatinny rail. This unit is made out of excellent military-grade materials and the hardware that attaches to the proprietary Ruger scope mounts on the Ranch Rifle is very well designed and constructed. I had this rail attached to my Ranch Rifle in a minute or so. The hardware stayed secure and tight without the use of Loc-Tight. The best part is that I was able to remove the bolt from my Ranch Rifle during field stripping without removing the rail. Thus my zero remained undisturbed. Most Mini 14 Ranch Rifle owners will want to strongly consider this GG&G rail accessory.

The base is as advertised and worked great with several different red dots that I have used. It is easily installed and is rock solid. I am satisfied with the purchase and would recommend it but with a word of warning. I have had issues with the base in combination with a specific rifle (a mini-14 tactical model). I have had the ejecting cases strike the base and fall back into the firing port, blocking the bolt as it moves forward with the next round. It usually manifests as a reversed stove pipe but I have had a couple cases wedged backwards between the bolt, frame and barrel. As you can imagine this is a reliability killer on a tactical rifle. This review is not to disparage the base, it works great and I am still using mine on a different rifle (an older ranch model). I just thought everyone should know that if your rifle tends to rejects upward, this could be an issue.

It fits great, and is a solid base. Reason for only 4 stars: My reflex Burris AR-332, sits too far forward, when even mounted at the rear most slots. But may work well for regular scope.
