What is the EGW - Rem 700, 722, 40x Short Action 0 MOA Steel?

EGW Remington 700, 722, 40x Short Action Steel Scope Bases.

Add the versatility of a one-piece Picatinny scope rail to your shotgun with no drilling or tapping. Precision machined from hardened steel with Picatinny slot-and-rail spacing that allows fast and simple changes to eye relief, plus great flexibility in scope choice. Drilled to fit the factory scope mount holes on the gun’s receiver. Accepts Picatinny or Weaver scope rings. Heavy Duty (HD) mounts are .100" lower than the Lightweight mounts to minimize weight and keep your optic closer to the barrel centerline for improved accuracy. Full-width cross-slots are gauged to MIL-STD 1913 specs to +/-.002". Machined from ultra-rigid 4140 carbon steel pre-hardened to Rc 35-35 before machining. Includes socket head Torx® screws and wrench. EGW recommends 20 inch lbs of torque and a drip of blue loctite.

Works great
Works great with the millet LRS on my .308. shooting milkjugs at 1000 yards. Use the bullet flight program on Ipod touch and a good rangefinder. Dial up MOA and it hits true. Wind meter for windage a little harder to judge, takes practice.

Bad Mounting Hardware
Rail is nice but mounting screws are junk along with the included Torx bit. Torx size is #10 and too small for proper torque to be applied. Screws should be better quality and with a #15 Torx head to allow proper torque without stripping out.
