J P ENTERPRISES - 308 AR Silent Captured Spring Gen 2 w/ Alt Spring Pack

I put this in an M&P10 and WOW what a difference. No more "thunk" when the bolt bottoms out, reduced recoil to the point that other shooters think they're shooting an AR15. Absolutely fabulous!!!

Purchased this for a high end LR/SR in 6.5 creedmoor that came from production over-gassed (a little). The rifle was built by the manufacture to eat ALL factory ammo reliably and my belief is that this is the reason for the slightly over-gassed setup - IF they leave it slightly hot, it WILL feed EVERYTHING you put in it (this is a true statement). I use this rifle for duty work and I also will hunt with it (I always hunt with my duty rifle). As an LEO I am relegated to factory ammo for duty and so i shoot stuff that is not scorching hot for work (Fed Gold medal match type) - my hand-loads for this rifle on the other hand are on the hotter side and a heavier projectile than what i shoot factory. With the over-gassed situation, I didn't notice big recoil impulse with the lighter and slower factory stuff, BUT when i switch over to my hand-load there was a marked difference in recoil and muzzle rise/sight picture loss. After playing with the JP SCS and the alt spring pack, i settled on the heaviest spring and now have a much softer shooting rifle and can maintain perfect sight picture through the shot. Brass was previously ejecting 1:30-2:00 and now is at right around 3:15 with factory, 3 o'clock sharp with my hand-load. Couldn't be happier. IF i were to mess with it any further, the only thing i would look at would be a tungsten weight to replace one of the the steel ones to try and get a smidge more mass behind the bolt, but at this point it doesn't loook necessary. Two more nice things about this system is that it IS quieter (not a huge deal, but I hate the spring noise of the original setup) and the other is that my brass was previously suffering unnecessary damage upon harsh ejection - now it spits out without any symptoms or signs of being beaten up. Brass lives matter!

This thing is great, Not sure what the other guy is talking about. He obviously doesn't know how to build an AR10 properly. I paired this with a SLR adjustable gas block and made my rifle a really smooth shooter.

Bought this as a verified compatibility buffer in my build. Rifle wouldn't feed properly, 9 out of 10 first chambered rounds would not fire. Never had a 2nd round fire, if it even cycled. Verified compatibility again with JP Enterprises and said it was correct. Put in a Brownells buffer and DPMS spring and gun ran flawlessly. Buy this and have an expensive paperweight.
