50 rounds fired
The barrel looks good, and shoots accurately enough. It is a few hundred rounds too early to measure accuracy. When the barrel arrived, it was pakaged in a heavy plastic material and coated inside and outside with a rust preventative. The barrel appeared to have been test fired and packed without cleaning. There were copper streaks present in the bore and there appeared to be a tiny amount of rust on the edge of the gas port-viewed with a bore scope. It was cleaned prior to shooting.
The barrel cleans easily after 50 rounds fired. The chrome lining looks great everywhere except the gas port. The gas port is drilled into a rifle land as opposed to a groove. There is a burr or rough area at the muzzle side of the round hole that is the port, and there is chrome missing in this area. I saw it plainly with my bore scope after the first 50 rounds were fired and the barrel was cleaned. The burr collected copper from the bullet's jacket. Accuracy was optimisticly estimated at 2.5 moa. Time, shooting, and cleaning will have to be put into the barrel to determine if it smoothes out and becomes more accurate.
The barrel is perfectly suited for it's manufacturer's original design purpose-shooting bad guys and long term, hard usage. I do not believe it will ever be a sub-moa barrel with any load.
