SPRINGFIELD ARMORY - Acro Red Dot Agency Optic System(AOS)Mounting Plate 1911 DS

I ordered the A15B plate to install a Vortex Defender ST on my Prodigy. The factory screws were stiff, but easy to remove (other brands have been known to strip). Once removed, I put a little oil on the plate to have rust preventative and installed on the pistol. It had to be pushed into place and snapped in. There was a touch of wiggle room, but you would only know because you can hear it. I mounted the Vortex on the plate and it fit perfect, again needed to be pressed down into place. The Springfield Hellcat screw kit is what I used (Google AI was wrong...) and they fit perfect. Locktite everything down and to my surprise, the sights are co-witness! If you look at the description, it says with the DPP footprint, you cannot use the factory sights. With the Vortex Defender, you can. Very pleased with finding that out. Overall, this plate appears to be excellent quality and we will see if it holds up. So far, seems to be super high quality and I'm pleased with it.

For those putting optics on the Springfield Arms AOS configured 1911's and some other handguns, when you remove the factory plate, the rear sight comes off as well. You need a special plate, if you want to continue to have iron sights as back up. The plates are hard to find....but, as usual, Brownell's had them....and they are priced cheaper than those you order from Springfield Armory.

Fit perfectly and allowed me to mount an EPS Carry.
