WILSON COMBAT - 1911 GOVERNMENT FLAT WIRE RECOIL SPRINGS

Works great with 1911 government model but needs a narrower guide rod. Well made.

I use these in my Sig 1911 and never had any issues at the range. Lower lb springs would not eject well or load another round, these more powerful springs help with both

heavier than stock armaspec stealth spring. Little smaller ID and larger OD though. Fit's 1/4" diameter guide rod so I made my own rod. Works better with hot 10mm loads

If you have researched the commentary on flat wire recoil springs, the obvious advantage is life span. Most standard recoil springs need replacing every 3-5k rounds. Flat wire springs are rated over 30k rounds. Speaking from personal experience, if you have a warranty issue with your pistol, the manufacturer will ask you how many rounds have been fired in your gun and when was the last time you changed the recoil spring. You're pretty safe with the flat wire. Only gave it 4 stars because they apparently are for 1911's only and they also can not be used with your standard recoil guide rod as the ID of the flat spring is smaller(.25") so you need to buy a kit to make the change over.
