Drop-in replacement for factory slide release lever has a much larger finger pad and a trapezoid-shaped bump that help ensure you release the slide fast, on the first try, after a reload. I always add this to my Glocks.
It helps me drop the slide without having to significantly alter my grip. Another trick is replacing the mag release on a standard width gun with a wide frame gun (10mm/45 auto). It makes it more prominent so I can reach it easier with either thumb.
