What is the WILSON COMBAT - Bullet Proof One Piece Magwell Full-Size Blue?

Machined from a solid piece of hardened tool steel, the Wilson Combat One-Piece Bullet Proof Magwell is CNC machined to exacting specifications, making it a perfect fit for most standard 1911 frames built for Government- or Commander-sized guns.

The Wilson Combat One-Piece Bullet Proof Magwell ships with 30 LPI checkering, designed to match up with most custom guns on the market, but different grip shapes and machined checkering options are available to match your particular gun.

The flat-mainspring model of the magazine well is designed to fit in most guns, but pistols with a rounded but will need fitting and contouring. Blued and stainless-steel finishes are available.

Just the best
This is one gorgeous mag well product. Wilson makes some really fine products. I am upgrading my SR1911, and this is not only a functional improvement, but really adds to the look of the pistol. Bravo!

Magwell Purchase
The description of most Wilson Combat Bullet Proof parts indicates some fitting may be required. As I am not a gunsmith myself, I purchased this fully intending to take it to a smith, Thorsen Machining Inc. in West Palm Beach.

Not a drop-in part.
The main spring housing pin on my SA Operator won't go into this housing.. I assumed the pin diameter would.be the same. Assumptions.

Disapointing
I purchased this Wilson magwell for my Les Baer 1911 even though it is more expensive than it's peers due to Wilson's reputation. Unfortunately I discovered that this item is not a drop in part and must be fitted to my frame thus adding further to the already high cost. Overall I'm disappointed that I selected it and would not do so again.
