What is the MAGPUL - M-LOK Cantilever Rail/Light Mount Polymer Black?

Designed for use with all M-LOK mounting surfaces, the M-LOK Cantilever Rail/Light Mount allows the attachment of various MIL-STD-1913 Picatinny-Spec rail-mounted accessories such as lights and optics. It directly interfaces with the popularSurefire® M300/M600 series Scout Lights or Magpul Light Mount V-Block and Rings. The Cantilever Rail/Light Mount has Picatinny slots that extend forward .75"-1.5" past the M-LOK mounting slot to improve ergonomics and optimize accessory positioning in a wide variety of uses, while keeping lights and accessories low to reduce the weapon's profile.


Machined from Mil-Spec anodized aluminum or lightweight reinforced polymer, the Cantilever Rail/Light Mount also features beveled ends and corners to reduce snagging and sharp edges.


All hardware necessary for attachment directly to M-LOK Slots on either aluminum or polymer hand guards and forends is included. 3 MIL-STD-1913 Slots, max overall length of 3.15".

Surefire & streamlight compatibility
This mount acts as a pic rail interface but allows streamlining the handguard by mounting direct to the weapon lights body. It is compatible with surefire scout lights as well as the streamlight protac 2. In order to get the streamlight body mounted directly you need an Allen wrench shortened to fit in the tight space. I simply took a dermal and cut an Allen wrench to fit in the tight space under the streamlight light body to secure the 2nd mounting screw. Good to go solid mounting.

Simple, cheap light mount.
I like have a light mount on every pistol/rifle I own and this is always my go-to. A lot of people spend a ton of money on other mounts and this has always served my needs. I usually put every light at 3 o'clock and this is perfect for that. I would imagine it being less sturdy than the steel version, and if I was running around in the woods, I would probably buy that instead.

A great light support
I buy the metal M-LOK accessories because they are sturdier for my use. This Cantilever Rail/Light Mount is just what is needed to get the light out past the front sight.

Does not mount forward on bottom of SGA
Mounts fine on upper sides of SGA shotgun forearm, but does not clear the flange on the bottom. So if you don't mind an extra wide profile, it's probably fine. I wanted to install on the bottom of the SGA forearm to minimize the width with a light. The flange at the front of the forearm is much thicker, so it's a NoGo, could move it back, but then no room for hands on the forearm. Must be an oversight by Magpul. I'm normally happy with their products.

Doesn't fit my application
Appears well built for polymer. Screws are not long enough to allow mounting on the sig mpx factory rail. Not sure what I'll do with it.
