HORNADY - Black 450 Bushmaster 250gr FTX Polymer Tipped 200/Case

This is a great price on hornandy bushmaster 450 ammo 250 grain very consistent down range I use this in my ruger American rancher bolt action 450 bushmaster with a 16" barrel five bullets touching same hole at 150 yards can't wait to see what it done on a white tale this season. Brownell service was awsome ordered four boxes and they were deliver whith in three days from ordering.I will definitely order again from Brownells again.

I purchased a Ruger Gunsite Scout Carbine in 450 Bushmaster. After looking at all of the ammo choices, I decided to try Hornady BLACK to see if it would shoot. HOLY COW! It shoots one ragged hole at 100 and one hole at 50. I was going to handload for the 450 Bushmaster, but Black shoots so good, and is priced so affordably, I'm not going to mess with handloads. Hornady BLACK is Super accurate with a proven reliable hunting bullet. Now, the 450 Bushmaster isn't a 300 yard round, but it wasn't designed to be. It will fit the bill for woods hunting and shots Inside 200 yards. I can't wait to try it out this deer season.

I shot 5 deer with these last season. 1 trophy 12 point 151 4/8 (2 shots 12 yards) and an older mature buck (1 shot) at 225 yards from a 16-inch AR15. I was running close 2200-2300 FPS. Since this is a 250-yard max range deer rifle was not worried about SD's and ES's because they grouped relatively well at 300 yards on 16-inch steel. As for bullet performance on game I retrieved 4 of them and they all deformed about 30-50% and retained most of their weight. The copper jacket is thicker which appeared to help it stay attached to the led core. So, a few would exit smaller-Medium Sized deer and her other would remain inside larger deer but plenty of damage to vital organs. No matter the caliber shot placement is key, take your time and put the shot where it counts. These rounds cycled well in my Bushmaster with no FTF or FTE. Hand loads could improve velocity and maybe squeeze a little more accuracy from these but from what I saw the factory Black is good enough if you want to save time. I fired approximately 100 before deer season to learn the trajectory which was a major plus for long shots past 120-225 yards, I felt way more confident shooting these then I did my 12ga slug gun that I had used since 1996. At 250 yards and closer this is a great cartage for deer sized game from a 16 inch barrel.
