What is the FORMAX - 400 Formax Satin-Glo?

Loads quickly and produces a smooth, great looking finish without a lot of hard work. Uniform, aluminum oxide abrasive in a water-soluble, glue base removes machine marks, pits, and surface imperfections in all types of steel, leaves the parts clean, dry, and ready to complete your favorite finish. Conveniently packed in three pound, re-sealable tubes. For best results, store unused portions of tubes in the refrigerator.


SPECS: Packed in approximately 3 lb. (1.3kg) tubes. Numbers indicate grit size.

The 320 grit is our favorite compound for the price. It has a very pleasant scent. It loads extremely well and evenly. This product seems to be less prone to cracking due to freezing when stored in our shop that is not always heated. Give it a try! Precision Bluing

Satin gold
Metal polish. As received is correct texture and applies easily. Keeping this texture intact after opening is another thing. But for the price I can deal with it. Cutting off the dried up end and discard it as I go is the way I deal with it.

Simple and works
This stuff is perfect for blending steel on a 8" heavy stiched wheel. It'll do what is said on the package. It works quickly and goes a long way in expediting finishing after draw filing or machining. Only 2 complaints. Wife agro. She doesnt like it being stored in the fridge. Second is this stuff throws itself off the wheel during application and after a while requires you to clean your safety glasses and mess off of your face.
