It works for m
I have had mine for 30+ years and has proved useful in numerous case's. When adding a pad to a rifle it can help determine if the stock needs modification. It’s not a precision tool but one that helps achieve a good end result. I like mine since it has a strip recessed in both parts not just numbers stamped in the wood. One could compare the new one to a yard stick.

Useless for intended purpose
This product has several flaws: The slide is very stiff, making it extremely difficult to get a measurement. The accuracy only goes to 1/8" which is useless for measuring drop and LOP therefore it is useless to me. Im sorry I spent the money on this product.
