What is the MARVEL PRECISION - Ultimate 1911 Sear Jig?
Aluminum jig uses two rollers to guide your stone evenly over the sear to let you get the exact angle for a crisp, clean trigger pull. Three modes allow you to pre-set, mate, and set up for secondary stoning to ensure that the hammer-sear engagement is precisely set. An adjustable angle mode is also available for experimenting with different angles. Brass rollers prevent over-stoning the sear and an adjustable insert and knob work with the sear block to lock the sear in place to prevent movement. SPECS: Aluminum block, brass rollers. Includes instructions.

Works very well
I have used it once on a PT1911 Taurus Government, and allowed me to polish it correctly and fix the rounded angle to the ridge it is supposed to be. Cannot wait to use it on more firearms.

Sear Tool
I build 1911s as a hobby. I have been shooting and working on guns for over 40 years. I always worked on the triggers of the guns that I used to get a light smooth pull. I have tried two other sear tools, an Ed Brown, and a Yavapi and I was not satisfied with either so I bought the Marvel tool. It is a great tool allowing me to put precise finishes and angles on sears and hammers. The only problem that I had was that the sear pin holes in the tool were .108 ", within spec but smaller than all the sear pins that I have. Hammer hole was on the small size too. I sent an email to Marvel requesting small sear pins but have not heard back as yet. In the meantime, I used a pin from a precision pin set as a sear pin. I have ordered some drill stock of the correct diameter so will make the appropriate sized pins. I could drill the tool out to fit my pins, but I prefer not to do this. I am very happy with this tool.

Best on the Market
Easy to set up and use. Easy to understand instructions. Better than any other jig I have tried.
4
Easy to use jig
The only drawback (and the reason for the 4 star, rather than a 5) I have found is the inability to reliably and consistently measure the dimensions of the sear before and after stoning. I use a 600 stone, which leaves a very smooth and polished primary and secondary surface.

Worked Moderate
Ok let me start by saying i am new to gunsmithing, more a hobby than any thing. BUT here is my review on this item The problems i had is the wingnut on the back side of this photo that holds the block high adjustment in place puts the block in to a slight angle when tightened, Not sure it is enough to make a difference. But when you tighten that nut it does tend to lift the bock up and change the cut height of the sear. kind of a pita I think the idea is good but the mfg of the item leaves me a little cold.
