You really want this tool
This is one of two tools Brownell has for removing 1911 bushings. If you installed the bushing at home, it is a breeze to remove - however - most factory 1911's stake the bushing in from the magazine side. Tos in time and rust - the bushing can be a real bear to removes. This tool is great for normal removals - and especially if the slots have been damaged on staked ones. Other tool, bushing extractor, is great for staked bushings that nobody had damaged the slots. This bit is good for the damaged ones. Owning both is money well spent.

Works great when the bushings on my Series 70 Gold Cup or Series 80 Officers Model need tightening. I have also used it on a Norinco frame without problems.

not so good
the shoulder of this bit does not allow the blade to seat completely with ed brown bushings, resulting in a rounded off slot on the bushing - exactly what this driver is supposed to prevent. Better job with a perfect sized blade tip from a high quality driver set (I used one from [@]).

Will not work with genuine Colt slim grip bushings
Might work with other after-market slim grip bushings but not Colt. In the description it say's "skirted" to protect the bushing slots. Being "skirted" is what prevents the crossbar from engaging with bushing slots. In the end, will still need to use appropriate screwdriver bit to remove the bushing. Not even going bother returning it.
