What is the BROWNELLS - Engine Turning Brushes 3 Pack?

BROWNELLS ENGINE TURNING BRUSHES

The Brownells Engine Turning Brushes are specialized gunsmithing and metal-finishing tools designed to create attractive engine-turned, jeweling, or swirl-finish patterns on firearm bolts, receivers, floorplates, and other metal components. These brushes allow gunsmiths, firearm customizers, and metalworking enthusiasts to reproduce the distinctive decorative finish commonly found on custom firearms, classic bolt-action rifles, and precision-machined metal parts.

Engine turning is both decorative and functional, helping create a professional custom appearance while also retaining lubricants on certain firearm components. These brushes are designed to produce consistent circular patterns and are ideal for restoring original finishes, creating custom firearm accents, or enhancing the appearance of metal surfaces.

Use with 120 grit Silicon Carbide Abrasive and Do-Drill. Drill press rpm should be fairly high. The gunsmiths recommending this process praise it highly.

CUSTOMER INSIGHTS

Gunsmiths and firearm restorers value engine turning brushes for their ability to create clean, repeatable jeweling patterns that enhance the appearance of firearm components. Many users employ multiple brush diameters to achieve different visual effects and pattern densities, particularly when customizing bolt bodies and other highly visible firearm parts. The brushes are also popular for restoration work where matching traditional engine-turned finishes is important.

The Brownells Engine Turning Brushes provide an effective solution for creating traditional engine-turned and jeweling finishes on firearms and metal components. Available in multiple diameters, these specialized finishing brushes help gunsmiths, restorers, and custom builders produce attractive swirl-pattern finishes that add both visual appeal and a classic custom touch to firearm projects.

Work Great
I use these to add a bit of ornamentation to my fly fishing reels (handcrafted reels) in brass and aluminum. Easy to use and last.

My Favorite Jeweling Brush
These are bar-none the best jeweling brushes on the market. I have used hundreds, if not thousands of them and they are top notch quality. My only complaint is that I wish Brownell's would start selling them by the dozen to make it less expensive for high volume uses, such as myself.
