What is the CLYMER - PULL THROUGH CHAMBER REAMERS?

The same special reamers military armorers have long used to cut minimum length chambers on match rifles, giving their shooters the accuracy advantage. The gun's own bolt applies pressure to the reamer while reamer is turned from the muzzle end. When the bolt "drops", the chamber is cut. Improved design cuts the shoulder, neck and throat to prevent neck crimping of the ammo. Use as a finish reamer ONLY. Cut chamber with conventional finish reamer first. Superb quality reamers made to SAAMI specifications.


SPECS: .308 & .30-06 Reamer Sets include: Pull Through (P/T) Reamer, Thrust Bushing and Extension Shaft. Shaft - 24" (60cm) long, ј" (6.3mm) diameter, round shank. Use #184-054-653 Throater/.22 T-Handle to drive shaft. Reamers work on bolt action or semi-auto rifles.

Great tool!!!
I used this reamer to finish a short chambered M1 Garand barrel. It worked perfectly. Not an issue for me as I have training on how to perform this task, but there were no instructions included. It had to be a fluke as I've never purchased any armorer tool from Brownell's that didn't come with instructions. Patience, plenty of cutting oil and frequent checking are all recommended to prevent going too far. It doesn't take a whole lot of time for a short chamber as this tool cuts very well with minimum effort. I gauge checked and cleaned the tool and bore a number of times. In the end when the bolt closed on the final couple of turns the GO and NO GO gauges confirmed it was dead on spec. I would definitely recommend this tool for the hobbyist and professional alike.

great little reamer
used this for a M1 Garand new barrel replacement. easy to use, take your time, use plenty of lubrication. the bolt ring is pretty close to the gage...was impressed

Great tool for building 30-06
Using this reamer is close to a "no brainer" but do read the directions supplied with the reamer. This is great for completing a barrel change where you purchase the barrel short chambered and want to get a precise, easy to complete, finished chamber with the correct headspace. You do need to know what a properly cutting reamer "feels like", keep the reamer lubricated, clean the flutes and the barrel chamber often. Also pay attention to the bolt while you are reaming - the finished chamber will 'sneak up' on you so take your time and pay attention.

Rod and T-handle different Diameters
The rod shipped measures .267 outside diameter (not the .25 advertised) and the recommended T-handle has an inside diameter of .254. Customer service said to send it back and they would send it to Clymer to sort out. Mean while I have barrels waiting to get finish reamed.
