The Geissele .308 reaction rod is an indispensable tool if you are attaching or removing muzzle devices, flash hiders or silencer adapters. IT was precise fit in the upper of my JP LRP-07. I am very pleased with the machining and finish on this tool.

Great piece of kit and awesome quality much like everything geissele makes, just dont buy it from geissele... i ordered this from geissele and after 2 weeks of runaround and excuses, I canceled the order just to get another 1-1/2 weeks of runaround for a refund and still nothing. Ridiculous!! I ordered from brownells, i paid less for shipping, they shipped it the same day, and it got here in less than a week total! Unless its something you absolutely cant find anywhere else, DONT ORDER IT FROM GEISSELE!! Get it at brownells!!! and, if it is something you can ONLY get at geissele, especially dont pay for quick shipping,(assuming its an option) your throwing away your money.

Received my super reaction rod today. While it was expensive, I can tell you that this is high quality. So basically you unscrew and remove the 2 brass wedge clamps before sliding the tool into the upper. Fits perfectly, now after the rod is loaded into the receiver you then reinstall the brass wedge clamps. Depending on whether you're loosening or tightening a barrel nut determines which gets put in and tightened first. If you are removing a barrel but or let's say taking off your flash hider, you will want to tighten the front/muzzle end screw first. This takes up all the slack "preload", putting the device in the optimal place to give you the most torque. To tighten just do the opposite. Simple design, yet revolutionary in the fact I can now lock my upper in place (to torque) forces. The old upper receiver vise block... I'll put that in the box with all the other old tools. Maybe I'll need it in the future, but the super reaction rod provides a much more stable platform. I can now work on my AR at any angle as long as the rod is in the barrel nut cut outs, and it differs from the others because you can actually lock it in place. I highly recommend this product, outperforms the old model, and model that I've used previously.

This tool is probably one of my favorites. It takes away from the possibility of ruining your upper receiver when installing a new barrel. I cannot find myself going back to the receiver block in order to properly torque a barrel onto a receiver. A very valuable tool to have.
